Inner City Transport PlanWith Cape Town being a popular destination, there is an increased dmand to travel within the Inner City area. Cape Town inner city offers a full spectrum of opportunities, whether for recreation, tourism, work, education and many other activities. To adequately address this demand, the City of Cape Town is preparing an Inner City Transport Plan. The purpose of the Inner City Transport Plan is to provide a framework for effective implementation of public transport initiatives and projects, non-motorised transport projects and road improvements planned for the Inner City area. This framework will ensure an integrated and well-balanced transport system that will adequately meet current and future demand for Cape Town. The Inner City Transport Plan is still under construction and requires technical and political approval. The Plan will be available for comment by April/May 2008.
