The UK government Department for International Development (DFID) requested SEA to design a Strategic Climate Change Fund to assist them in allocating R20 million to support a low-carbon transition in South Africa. This involved consulting key stakeholders from all sectors, identifying initiatives and plans relevant to a low-carbon transition, and clarifying barriers and opportunities in this regard.
