Sustainable Energy Africa leads a strategic approach to sustainable development through integrated energy planning. We promote energy as the driver of sustainable development in cities particularly addressing poverty and climate change. SEA is an innovator and a catalyst of fundamental change.

Finance

SEA should:

• Be a financially efficient and stable organisation
• Establish long-term funding for innovative work, advocacy, capacity building and networking
• Build an ongoing relationship with a suite of funders
• Generate a portion of income from consultancy work
• Be able to employ skilled staff at appropriate remuneration

Staffing and Competencies

SEA is a perfomance based organisation staffed by highly skilled committed innovative and balanced people, having a 3:1 professional / admin ratio and 67% HDI. Comprehensive HR policies and procedures have been developed and are understood and observed.

Operations

SEA must have operating systems that enable project staff to be very productive, whilst minimising our own ecological footprint. (Green Operating Principles)

Organisational Structure

SEA has a flat, flexible role - based structure with clear delegated responsibilities that facilitates appropriate allocation of work, development of staff and administrative support.
